5 Alternative Ways of Meditation

We wanted to talk about the benefits of meditation and realized almost everyone has told you to relax and meditate these days. Calming yourself and dealing with the chaos all around you has become one of the most difficult struggles. While you’re battling with your mind to reach the state of zen, we’ve come up with some fun ways to help you relax during these days of social distancing.

All will be well if we start well right now. Keep distance physically but connect with everyone you love through calls. Relaxation has become stress but it doesn't have to rule your life. Here’s a list of 5 fun alternatives to meditation to help you calm your mind during these times of unrest and scare.

#1 Coloring

If you think coloring is only a childhood pastime, you’re wrong here. It has the ability to relax your restless mind. It induces the state of meditation and calms the fear center of your brain. The challenge to stay inside the lines and choosing colors produces harmony in the brain. It is one of the best electronic-free exercises to follow to calm the stressed nerves of your brain. So whenever you feel stuck during this period, pick up a coloring book to experience mindfulness and quietness within a few minutes.

#2 Breathing Deep

Have you noticed your friends telling you to just breathe when you lose your mind and suddenly you start feeling better? Yes, that’s the trick. We don’t pay much attention to our breathing. But now is the time to notice even the minutest thing your body is doing for you. Take a few deep breaths and stress will find a way out of your body. Inhale good vibes and exhale anxiety, stress and bad vibes right now

#3 Playing

All work and no play is not going to help you achieve any targets this quarter. Remember, play is fun and can trigger the release of endorphins, which improve overall sense of well-being. It can also temporarily take your attention off any pain. Moreover, prevents memory problems and improves brain functions. So, while managing all the work from home, you need a break to relax and rejuvenate. Online card games like Call Break and Rummy are going to be your companion during this social-distancing period.

#4 Dancing

Have you ever seen yourself dancing? It might sound crazy but just do it. Play your favorite music and dance in front of the mirror. You won’t even realize where all your problems have disappeared. Also, dancing has a wide range of physical and mental benefits, from the improved condition of your heart and lungs to increased muscular strength. It brings better coordination, agility and flexibility and the list is endless. So it’s time to step up and dance to see the endorphins do their magic. Follow the rhythm for a few minutes and things in your mind will follow the rhythm too.

#5 Practice Gratitude

Being grateful can reduce stress. Be thankful for the smallest of things, even for waking up and going to bed healthy. Practicing gratitude on a daily basis can make you happier, reduce your stress, protect you from depression and anxiety, help you sleep better, boost your immune system and improve your relationships with your family, friends and even God. Starting right today, thank everyone for making your life easier and adding value to it.

We know you’re well-aware of all the simple things mentioned above but now is the time to start practicing them to experience life-changing impacts. We hope you stay happy and healthy while you stick to your favorite hobbies and activities during this break.
