Practice Makes One Perfect: 3 Reasons Not to Directly Jump into Cash Gaming

Rummy is a game most of us love to play, and it has been a part of our lives since we were kids. Let’s admit it, it’s a part of our culture, our celebrations, and family gatherings.

However, with time rummy has made a crossover from being a game that we played with close friends and family to a competitive game that’s played at national and international levels.

Today millions of people from all over the country play the game with opponents across India, thanks to the game going online. With hundreds of tournaments to choose from, both paid and free, rummy enthusiasts are spoilt for choice.

However, if you are new to the format and haven’t played competitive rummy much but just getting the hang of the game, then this blog is for you, as you might be tempted to jump directly into playing cash games.

But there are many reasons why you should not jump into cash gaming directly. And we are going to list down 3 reasons you should be playing practice games and not cash games to begin with.

Online Rummy Is a Faster Version of the Game

When you compare the offline version with the online version of the game, you will find that the online version is a lot faster and calls for quick thinking and quick decision-making. To be blunt, unlike the offline version where you can just hold on to your cards and take a lot of time to think what your next move is going to be, the online version only gives you a limited time (usually in seconds) to make your move.

The online version of rummy calls for a person to be on their toes and attentive as there are no second chances. The key lies in thinking and acting fast. Therefore, start with practice games to become familiar with the mechanics and get up to speed before you decide to foray into cash games.

Develop the Required Skills

As mentioned above, not only will you need to get yourself familiar with the game functions, you will also need to acquire the required skills to take on players who have been playing the game online for a long time. Practice games will not only familiarize you with the game but also will help you develop the skills needed to excel in competitive rummy.

Therefore, practice as much as you can before you take on more seasoned players in cash games.

Practice Makes You Perfect

This brings us to our final point—practice makes you perfect. The more you practice, the better it is. It will not only make you a better player over time but also help you express your hidden rummy talent that you never knew you had. We can’t stress this point enough; everyone knows how practice helps one master a skill. In short, the more you practice, the better you become. Happy gaming!
