Number of Cards

A game of online rummy is played with two decks of cards including 4 printed Jokers. Each player is dealt 13 cards. The remaining cards are placed face down to form an closed deck. A random card is picked from the closed deck as the wild Joker, which can replace any other card to form a set or sequence.

Gameplay

Once 13 cards are dealt to each player, the game starts in an anti-clockwise direction, that is, from the player sitting on the right side of the dealer. The objective of the game is to form sets and sequences in the minimum time.  To win, a player has to form two sequences including a pure sequence (without using a Joker) and the remaining cards have to be grouped in sequences or sets.

Points in rummy are based on the total value of the unmatched cards in your hand when the winner declares his/her hand. If you fail to create a pure sequence, the points of all your cards will be added up (capped at 80 points). If you have a pure sequence in your hand and your opponent declares his/her before you, the points of the remaining cards that are not arranged in sequences or sets are added up. The winner gets zero points.
